Lessons learned on Twitter

This week I posted a new podcast with Scott Hunter of Microsoft, along with Jon Galloway of Microsoft and Ward Bell of IdeaBlade. I was pretty excited about what Scott had to say shutterstock_152928911about Angular and ASP.NET, and tried to convey that on Twitter.  Oops.

I learned (again) what I should have known

  • It is better to understate than to overstate
  • It is better to check with your source before interpreting what he said
  • It is better to let the podcast stand on its own
  • e-conversations are very difficult

I ended up having to make “clarifications” of my comments – felt like a hack politician. I forgot that 140 characters is just enough to sound like a jerk.

Live and learn and move on.
