Styles of Beyond is closely associated with Fort Minor, but is a bit cruder, a bit rougher around the edges, a bit less inspired. That said, their LP Megadef cooks, and they have something to say beyond the hop. Strong lyrics, very strong voices, though both are interrupted at times by “experimental” riffs, but you have to admire their willingness to push the genre. In any case, there’s enough there to be worth putting up with the occasional miss.
