Nobody Tells Me Nothin’ – New Dollar Coins

I loved the two dollar bill.

dollars Similarly, being completely in sync with popular opinion, I love dollar coins. They are cheaper for the government, terrific for poker, and they are extraordinarily beautiful.

In recent years, the government released the wonderful Susan B. Anthony dollar (1). It celebrated a great Suffragette and, on the obverse, the landing on the moon (though I’d have preferred the LEM (extra points if you know what the acronym stands for.)When no one used the SB dollars, out came the Skajawia dollars (2). Nice, though her role was overstated by the media, she was instrumental in helping Lewis and Clarke and I would really like to see a woman on our money, but no go.  Now, however…

…without telling me, they’ve created a series of Presidential dollars.  The obverse is the Statue of Liberty which I of course embrace, and the presidents look quite good. I delight in positioning Adams(3) and Jefferson (4) together again (first in life and together in death) and of course the ability to honor Millard Fillmore (5)should not go unmentioned.

I intend to collect them all.  No, no, circulate them, yeah that’s it. Circulate them. I swear.
