This story went long path. People saying Silverlight is dying, I was curios to know why is that so. So I decided to learn JavaScript, and I couldn’t stop after I started. This ended up in writing graph drawing library in javascript (https://github.com/anvaka/VivaGraphJS ) . And the site now is running on it. Recently I also added support of WebGL, here is a video of library in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5KrtGB8oA4 – now I think I know why people are seeing end of Silverlight (as a web platform)…
I truly love Silverlight and its programming model. But lack of support on certain devices, ubiquitous JavaScript, and great performance of JavaScript machines made me love JavaScript as well.
This was a good interview! Andrei, you mentioned you would open source some of the animations / silverlight visuals.
