I’ll be speaking at DevIntersections/Angle Brackets

April 13-16, 2014 at JW Marriott Grande Lakes, Orlando Florida

I’m thrilled to say that I’ll be speaking at Angle Brackets.  Angle brackets is “a AngleBracketsLocationconference for lovers of the Web.”    It has been described as “the conference for those who miss Mix,” and it is co-located with DevIntersections: tickets for one get you full admission to the other.

This year’s speakers include

  • Scott Guthrie
  • Scott Hunter
  • Scott Hanselman
  • John Papa
  • Dan Wahlin
  • Douglas Crockford
  • Elijah Manor

and many others (see below).

I’ll be speaking about:

Open Source Kendo UI From scratch
KendoUI provides beautiful and professional widgets for your application with absolutely minimal ceremony. Built on top of jQuery, KendoUI offers a fast, easy to use and exceptionally attractive set of controls easily integrated into any JavaScript application.  In this presentation we will see how to integrate KendoUI into your application and how to take advantage of Kendo’s support for MVVM to create larger, more complex applications.

Create an API for your Application with Service Stack
Building an API or Web Service is not easy; you need to pull together different technologies and there are many choices. ServiceStack simplifies the task by providing a convention-based “stack” of services that allow you to build a clean service-based API using standard web service protocols. I will explain what ServiceStack is, and how you can use it as an alternative to ASP.NET MVC, Web API and WCF, providing a convention-over configuration alternative that is fast and responsive.

One ASP.NET
One ASP.NET teaches all you need to know about the elements of programming with ASP.NET, including Web Forms, MVC, AJAX,  Web API and SignalR. I assume no prior ASP.NET experience, but even experienced programmers will find much that is new.
